WNCC Advance Special Ministries

The Advance is an official channel for designated giving in The United Methodist Church. While the priority is for local churches to support the World Service and other apportioned funds and conference benevolences, Advance giving is designated so individuals, church groups, congregations, districts and annual conferences can select specific ministries to support voluntarily.

General Advance Specials are approved by the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) as worthy projects of United Methodist support. All donations for the Advance go to the projects for which they are designated.

 Churches are at liberty to support Advance Specials (General Church Approved)  according to the wishes of the individual churches. The following ministries have been vetted and are approved as Annual Conference Mission Specials:

• Carolina Cross Connection
• Mission Response Center
• VIM Mission Connection Teams
• Congregations 4 Children
• Northern Haiti Mission Connection
• WNCC Committee on Relief
• Open Arms Community and Church
• Project AGAPE
